How to use the setiptv app with an M3U playlist
An M3U URL points a compatible player to an authorised channel list. It is account data, so treat it like a password and never paste it into an unknown website.
Open Add playlist, choose M3U or remote playlist, enter a recognisable playlist name, paste the complete authorised URL, save and wait for synchronisation. Restart the app if categories do not appear immediately.
How to upload a playlist to setiptv
- Copy the M3U URL from your provider’s secure message or dashboard.
- In setiptv, open Add playlist or the official upload page identified by the app.
- Enter the device identifier only on the verified portal.
- Paste the full URL and choose a unique list name.
- Save, restart the app and refresh channels and EPG.
How to add multiple links to setiptv
If your version supports multiple playlists, repeat the process with a different name for each authorised link. Keep Live TV, family or regional lists clearly labelled. Some versions accept only one active list; in that case, remove the old entry before adding another or use a player designed for multiple profiles.
Where to get an M3U URL
The URL must come from a provider authorised to distribute the content or from a playlist you created from sources you have permission to use. The app does not generate an M3U subscription. Avoid public “free M3U” pages: they may be illegal, unstable or designed to steal device information.
Why a playlist will not load
Check for missing characters, expired access, extra spaces, an incorrect device clock or a temporary provider issue. A very large playlist may take several minutes. Test the URL only with a trusted compatible player and never publish it in a support forum.
M3U URL, playlist file or account login?
A remote M3U URL lets the player request the list from your provider. A local M3U file is a saved copy and may need replacing when the list changes. A server address, username and password belong in an account-login screen only if your player supports that format. Do not paste three separate credentials into a field that expects one playlist URL.
Ask your provider which format your installed player supports. Retain the full link, including any characters after a question mark. Copying just the domain can produce an empty list even when the account is active.
Edit, rename or replace a setiptv playlist
- Keep a private copy of the working details before editing.
- Open the playlist manager in your app or the portal it identifies.
- Select the existing list and use Edit if that option is available.
- Change the display name or paste the replacement URL supplied by your provider, then save.
- Reload the player and check that the new categories and streams work before removing an old entry.
If there is no Edit option, use the player’s documented remove-and-add procedure. A display name only identifies the list; changing it does not renew the account or change its channels. Refreshing reloads the provider’s current data. It does not restore expired access.
Diagnose an empty or incomplete list
| What you see | What to check next |
|---|---|
| No categories appear | Confirm that the complete URL was saved and the account is active. |
| Categories appear, no streams open | Check connection limits and ask the provider whether access is working. |
| Only some channels fail | Note the affected channel names and times; avoid repeatedly replacing the whole list. |
| Channels work, EPG is empty | Confirm guide data is supplied and whether your player needs a separate EPG setting. |
When comparing another trusted player, stop playback on the first device so the test does not exceed your connection allowance. Never upload a private list to a public online validator.
